Great Lakes Calibration was founded in early 2012 by a veteran of the United States Navy and calibration technician of more than 17-years. The laboratory is accredited by A2LA to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 international standard.

We are pleased to announce that on July 1, 2023 Great Lakes Calibration Services was acquired by Martin Calibration, Inc. The Great Lakes Calibration Services name will live on in the Martin Calibration group of companies.
Over the last 11 years Josh and Sarah Hitchcock along with Aaron Bertolotti have owned and operated Great Lakes Calibration Services providing superior mechanical and thermodynamic calibrations, axial alignment and dynamic force verifications, and tensile machine retrofitting services to clients throughout the United States. Josh will stay on with GLC in a consultancy role for the next 5 years, solidifying the transition. Sarah and Aaron will stay on and contribute as full-time employees.
Martin Calibration, Inc. owned by Richard Brion since 2000, is headquartered in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota metropolitan market and operates 4 other calibration laboratories in the Greater Milwaukee and Eau Claire Wisconsin; Chicago, Illinois; and Tempe, Arizona markets. Providing services to many of the largest Bio-Medical, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Energy Generation, and Precision Manufacturing companies in the world.
Great Lakes Calibration and Martin Calibration found complimentary partners in each other as both rely on exceptional quality, customer service, timely deliveries, and diversified service offerings to set ourselves apart from others in our market space. It’s these shared values that have made both companies successful for decades and will continue for many more.
Current GLC clients can rest assured that the same superior level of services will not only be maintained but expanded upon. Martin Calibration sees this as our primary responsibility. Many clients will notice near term enhancements in capabilities, IT infrastructure, and additional personnel.
Day-to-day management responsibilities are being shifted to Michael Crosby, as the General Manager of GLC. Mike will work closely with Josh, Sarah, Aaron, and the rest of the staff to carry on GLC’s tradition of quality. Mike has an established track record of excellence; with a total of 21 years in the calibration field. This includes his service to our country in the Marine Corps, varied laboratory management roles, and specializing in the same calibration disciplines he’ll oversee at GLC. Prior to this opportunity Mike has been managing our Mundelein laboratory.
